Wandering around Oslo

This morning adventure was to walk up the Opera house I had a lovely breakfast. I walked  into town had a bit of trouble finding the  spot to walk up the opera house as construction going on. I sat  near some statue of some guy and some ladies were taking photos with him so I got one to take one with me.  I walked across the street but was wrong side so I went around the block and found the place to climb . It was a bit of a hike but I took my time. I walked around and plenty of spots for great views. was looking around up and had planned. There were birds up there posing.

I  found the Palace  and looked around the area plenty of beautiful flowers.  I visited the Cathedral which had been closed the day  before and found my back to the fountains and sat and enjoyed the sun. I was back to the trucks selling cod fish and chips and decided  to have one more time. I wandered around some back streets and found a pretty area by water and some interesting statues.  It was a very enjoyable day.  I truly loved Oslo and wish I had another day.

0slo amazing Vigeland Park

I got up and had planned on treating myself to a nice breakfast at the restaurant on the corner as we got a discount.  I headed over and it was closed.  I walked over to the grocery store I had been buying pastries at closed. I did not know stores and restaurants all closed on Sunday, I walked back to my hotel wondering what to do as I was in lobby someone came in with a McDonald cup and I asked where was a open McDonald's and she said in town center I headed there. There was only one working there. She took orders and was cooking. The seat are was closed and people sat on the window sill waiting for order. No one was complaining, about the wait, that would never happen here and there were 20 siting waiting. I placed my order and at 9 am another person came in to wait on people. I got my food and sat outside to eat. I walked to the train station and got a small sandwich for the ride. It was  7 hours to Oslo through the mountains. The views were awesome and I really enjoyed the trip. I wound up getting tea several time and my last time a woman there and I noticed her Liverpool accent and we wound up talking for about an hour.

Arriving in Oslo I made my way to my hotel, I wasn't sure where it was I had actually booked another place very close to the station but I received a message that my room was cancelled as my credit card did not work.  So i had to find a place to stay before I left Bergen, it was a bit of walk but once I found it I was quite happy and it included breakfast which was really nice.  After breakfast I took a bus to the viking museum and found it fascinating I got a big surprise when I saw the woman from the train there and we talked and looked around together.   I then hopped the bus and found my way to the Vigeland Sculpture park, the park is the worlds largest sculpture park made by a single artist Gustav Vigeland, it is one of the top Oslo attractions. It contains 212 bronze and granite sculptures.

not a statue

I spent quite awhile at the park and then took a bus back, I could see some little trailers of food near the water. I got off the bus and looked around. I wound up getting cod fish and chips and It tasted as good as the Bergen one and around 15 bucks I found a rock and sat and enjoyed.  I then looked around and then realized I was within walking distance of my hotel. I had a nice walk back and had a nice evening.
