Back in London with the Chimps

I had to change hotels on Sunday as my place didn't have a room. It was a bit of a walk to hotel. I also checked the walk from the hotel to the train station to know how much time I needed to get there. I had a lovely breakfast and set off for the train station. I  had got my ticket back to London a few days because of the change in trains had to get a new ticket. I tried to change the ticket for the new one but the guy at the desk was very rude to me. He said you want a ticket or not I am not changing tickets for you do it yourself.
The train to Crewe and I had to find the train continuing to London. I arrived in London headed to the exit a bit of a walk but a man with a  passenger assist shuttle saw me and offered me a ride and of course I took it.  The Queens funeral was that day but I was able to walk across to my hotel and checked in. I took a walk.
The next day I decided to go to  Walthamstow My friend Laurie told me about it and sounded interesting.
I found the market but could not find the place she mentioned I asked some ladies having a cuppa and they looked it up on their phone and told me how to get there. I finally found it, some interesting and then I felt hungry and found a place with a Lamb Shish kabob and it was soooo good.

Next up I went in search of the Chimps Sculpture and I found a couple then I asked a woman in the Hays Galleria if she knew where I might find more chimps,   she told me where to look. Even took a photo of me posing with one. There were 28 and I managed to find 20. Several were near Tower Bridge so of course I got a chance to check it out once again.

Shrewsbury

I had planned on visiting my cousin and her hubby in Shrewsbury at the beginning of my trip . However that was not meant to be Shrewsbury is so close to Chester I decided to visit. I hopped the train and was there in 45 minutes sad that they were not there to meet me. I headed to find the Castle which was a short walk away. I knew they had Shrewsbury art trail, by Andrew Logan (which had been extended through September) and I wanted to see the giant egg. It was really cool looking.

After I just roamed the streets just enjoying in Shrewsbury I just  love the black and whites.  I noticed people dressed up an apparently there was some kind of Alice in Wonderland day which I later found out was Clued Upp Games Alice in Wonderland had to laugh as I had seen Mad Hatter in Wales.
I watched the people in costume and I kept running into them as I explored. I needed a rest and sat and talked to a woman awaiting her Doctor Appointment. I walked around the town and I saw a boat trip leaving in a few moments I was on the boat Sabrina and sailed around the River Severn it was a relaxing ride with interesting views. I walked around crossed a bridge and found another interesting area, I walked back to the train station stopping to have an ice cream and then headed for the train back to Chester.

Return to the Pool

Well how could I not want to visit Liverpool again it was close about 45 minutes by train and they had just unveiled a statue of Brian Epstein just before I left for England. I heard from a Liverpool friend Betty who I first met in Norway, and she suggested we meet up. I thought great idea. We met at the train station and we set out. We first decided to Ferry Across the Mersey and I had not done that for at least 20 years. The Ferry Terminal is now named The Gerry Marsden Terminal. who wrote and performed.Ferry Across the Mersey.

We walked around and found the Brian Epstein statue it was unveiled just before I left for England. We found it Betty was surprised it was there because she is in that area often and never saw it but I explained it was new. I was trying to remember just where a restaurant was that I ate at 4 years ago because I wanted to have scouse stew we finally found the place Maggie May's after a lot of searching.

After wandering around awhile Betty said shed take me to New Brighton in her car so we got her car and drove there.  It was nice spot by the water, We visited the spot where the Beatles played 27 times between 1961 and 1963 watched  wind surfers and then she dropped me back at a station and I headed back to Chester.
