Nottingham and Newark on Trent

Next up a trip to Nottingham famous for being the home of the legendary Robin Hood. I arrived and looked around the town a bit and had an ice cream come good ole whippy dippy, and went in search of the Castle. It was quiet an uphill hike and that's when I found Robin hood statues all around.  Then I headed to visit Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem which is pub that was established in 1189 making it (so they say) the oldest pub in England. I went in and just bought a coke, it was interesting to look around.

The last day in Lincoln I decided to go to Newark on Trent.  It was a cool day and looked like rain. I walked into town and visited a church and then further on walked I liked the black and whites , but then it started to rain. I found the castle ruins looked around a bit  but the rain got heavier so I decided to head back to town tried to find something to eat and then just gave up and headed back to Lincoln and luckily the fish and chip place was open so had a lovely meal.

A Visit to Lincoln

Laurie a friend of mine had been to Lincoln and I started looking into it was and decided I wanted to visit. I headed to King Cross to catch the train I had booked one with no changes. I arrived and headed off to my hotel but the route I had was really long and out of the way. I hauled my luggage and turns out I was on the wrong side of the river.  So I asked someone and then I headed the right way which was quiet a haul. I finally found the hotel on the river I had something to eat and sat by the river.

In the morning I decided to visit the Cathedral which was up Steep Hill and it was steep believe me but I took my time finding places to rest. After the long climb I visited the Cathedral and then walked around a bit. I saw the Dragon at the Castle her name was Lucy. I headed down but saw areas that did not look familiar and I asked a woman if it was the way down and she said no. I had to go back up a bit and she walked with me so that was really nice of her. I had lovely cod fish for dinner.

Wildlife for Wildlife and the Wings tour bus

Today it was off to Tower bridge one of my fave places in London. but extra special  because they were having a display; Wild Life for Wildlife by Gillie and Marc I had seen some of their work last year and really looking forward to seeing more. I walked across Tower Bridge and spotted Mr Whippy and of course had to have one.
After I headed off in search of Wildlife I didn't have far to go before I spotted one it was a bicycle with animals riding. I continued along and found more. It was really and awesome display I was not disappointed. I later went to the Capital Kebab and had my fave dish, yeah London.

The next day I headed back to Kings Cross in search of The WINGS tour bus that was on display in Coal Drop Yard I was looking around and I managed to find it on display and close enough to look at and take pictures of with out having to pay admission for the car boot sale so that was perfect.  It was a rainy day and I decided to just head back to my hotel and be ready for my new adventure tomorrow in Lincoln.

well of course I had to touch it

London Once again

Well decided to book a flight to London in February because I had enough air miles for free flight however as soon as I booked it I had problems with my knees I was really worried I would have to cancel but my chiro got me in shape. So I headed first to London. But had problems finding a room in Hounslow Central for April 27th and decent places cost a mint. But luckily I found one just a few weeks before I left. I checked in took a nap and went to find something to eat in Hounslow. I was in bed early I was exhausted.

The next day I headed into Central London and St James Park. its a bit of a walk from Green Park I first came across the end
of the changing of the guards and had to wait to cross the street. I was thrilled to see the tulips in bloom. I walked around and went to the bridge to get my token Bridge shot
photo taken. I crossed the bridge looked around saw a squirrel, and of course I took a pic and then headed to the front of the park and was so happy to see the Pelicans my fave thing about St James Park I happily snapped away.

Next I headed to Trafalgar and then I went to Leicester Square because it was nearby and there were the statues of various celebrities I had heard about all over the square and I excitedly took photos.  I still has some energy so headed towards gardens near the River Thames. I found some place to eat fish and chips yeah and I noticed this woman getting fish and chips take out. Then I walked to the gardens along the Thames wound up sitting with the woman  who taking out fish and chips  we chatted for awhile.  Then walked to Big Ben then headed back to my hotel.
